For many people, like me, music or literature not only is an art form. It is a guiding angel as well. In times high and low, my music, my poetry have consoled me and pulled me out of the quicksand called "depression"... Ah, I remember a thing that my music teacher had said once. "Until and unless you reach the stage called "depression", you can not sing with the feel." This fact is fact. But there's one more thing that clicked me(while writing this post). When you are in depression, you can give yourself to music or to words, completely. You have nothing to lose. Hence, you give up on everything that you have. And in these moments, music or literature provide such a relief and positive energy that you can't afford to feel low. You, instead, feel elated and doubt whether your feeling of depression was concrete or 'twas just a mood swing?
What's your experience?????

I agree with you very much that art is to be, and is, instrumental in being that inspirational tap-root of the electrification which jolts us into the life form of creative energy. Music is a very powerful and dynamic inspirational form which ignites the consciousness like plugging the brain into a electrical outlet. It's made to jolt us...why else would we be driving around listening to music in our cars constantly? It's because we NEED to pull ourselves out of the mundane and into a more elevated conscious reality...where our imaginations are sparked into life. All art does it though, if we let it. Your thoughts are meaningful and TRUE!
